 One School, One Book

What?

One School, One Book is designed to create a shared reading experience within an elementary school community.  Every family in the elementary school receives a copy, and every family reads that book at home over the course of a few weeks.  Activities at school coordinate, promote, and enrich the shared reading experience.

Why?

To create a culture of literacy in every home.  We want to bring literacy to life. One School, One Book takes the concepts read from the inside the classroom to the dinner table.

Who?

You and every family at Ithica Elementary School!  We hope you'll be so excited.

When?

A copy of Mysteries According to Humphrey will come home with your child on Tuesday, January 7th.  Beginning January 13, read one chapter of the book each week and have your child complete the grade level assignment.  All activities should be completed and turned in to your child's homeroom teacher by Friday, April 17th.

Students can earn a special school tag by completing 9 out of 14 assignments found at ies.carrollcountyschools.com.  All assignments must be turned in by Friday, April 17th!

The One Book, One School was made      possible by a generous donation from . . .
