STEM

We are excited to announce the continued implementation of our STEM program at Ithica Elementary School this school year. Current research shows that when students are introduced to STEM related topics and career fields in elementary school, they will go on to play an integral role in our nation's global competitiveness and economic stability.

Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will rotate through the STEM Lab each week as part of their exploratory class.

In order to make this a successful endeavor, we need your support and assistance with a few things. We have a constant need for supplies to assist classroom STEM activities and lessons. Please save and send in the following items, but make sure you label it STEM:

Foil
straws
popsicle/craft sticks
empty paper towel rolls
Glue
pipe cleaners
drawing paper
cardboard
Magazines
egg cartons
yarn
bottle caps
Lincoln Logs
Legos
paint
small hand tools
Watering cans
cotton balls
qtips
ribbon
Thread
Ziploc bags of all sizes

Not only do we need recyclable items, we need YOU! Please take a minute to complete the I'M AN IES STEM SUPPORTER information. Human resources are as equally important as financial support to our program; therefore, we value your time and expertise.

Thank you for your support of our IES STEM!  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Scruggs at lura.scruggs@carrollcountyschools.com.
