 Welcome
Welcome to Ithica Elementary School at Graben-Garrett Farm! We invite you to explore our website and discover the Ithica difference. Here at Ithica, IES doesn’t just stand for Ithica Elementary School …it also means “Inspiring Every Student.”

Our dedicated faculty and staff are passionate about inspiring each student as they celebrate excellence and effort. This collaborative spirit is contagious, resulting in a school that is characterized by its strong sense of community and warm, nurturing family atmosphere.

At IES, we respect individual learning styles because we know and value every child. This passion for inspiring each student has produced a region Georgia Young Author, four County Young Author Winners, a Jr. Beta Spelling Bee Winner, a County Bus Safety Poster Winner, a State Poster Winner for Fire Safety, a County winner for Black History Bookmark Contest, and a State 4-H Winner (livestock division) in the short time Ithica has been open.

  • Remember to say "please" and "thank you" when appropriate.
  • If you bump into someone, or if they bump into you, politely say "excuse me", even if it's not your fault.
  • If someone in the class or school does something well, we clap and congratulate that person.
  • No matter what the circumstances, always be honest.
  • Never cut in line
  • Perform random acts of kindness.  Go out of your way to do something surprisingly kind and generous for someone at least once a month.
  • Make every effort to be as organized as possible
  • Accept that you are going to make mistakes.  LEarn from them and move on.
  • When you cough, sneeze, or burp, it is appropriate to turn your head away from others and cover your mouth.  Afterward you should say "excuse me."
  • Clean-up after yourself in the hallway, classroom, lunchroom, and restroom.  This school belongs to all of us.  Let's keep it looking great.
  • Stand up for what you believe in.
  • Be positive and enjoy life.  Some things just aren't worth getting upset over.  Keep everything in perspective and focus on the good in life.
  • Be the best person you can be.
  • Be respectful, look at the person that is talking and always treat others the way you want to be treated.
  • Carpe Diem (SEIZE THE DAY): You only live today once, so don't waste it.
